My Story

I have always been interested in learning about other cultures. In my travels, I have learned just how similar we are as humans, despite differences in language and traditions. These experiences, together with my study of anthropology and international relations, have strengthened my passion for learning to understand other cultures and break down perceived cultural differences and barriers.

I took this interest one step further, studying abroad in Santiago, Chile for six months, which opened my eyes to the importance of cultural exchange. Teaching English in a Chilean school allowed me to discover the value of cross-cultural learning, while volunteering with Chilean students to build houses for families in need enabled me to connect with the other students as fellow humanitarians. These experiences shaped my dedication to international exchange and education, as well as my desire to provide others with similar opportunities for cultural growth and learning in whatever way I can.

In my seven years of working in the international exchange industry, I have come to realize that the key to facilitating understanding between people is through effective communication. My work today is focused on developing cross-cultural communication skills and integrating them into international education programs in order to facilitate meaningful experiences that enhance mutual understanding across cultures.
